A Message From the National Step It Up Team:

The Movement

"Social movements are a type of group action. They are a large scale informal groupings of individuals and/or organizations focused on specific political or social issues, in other words, on carrying out a social change."
--Wkipedia, "Social Movement"

Just by perusing this website, anyone can join the mighty new movement that is confronting the most urgent challenge facing us today. The Climate Movement is a growing collection of diverse groups scattered all over the country (and world) whose collective consciousness is fuel that will propel us into a clean energy future.

This April hundreds of thousands of people came together to send a strong message to Congress: "Cut Carbon 80% by 2050." By taking pictures of their own homegrown actions, the diverse group of everyday people became climate movement organizers, propelling this dynamic new movement farther than ever before.
